A Tapestry of Fire & Rain

Somewhere between the political/ social message of Dylan and the rock rebellion of the Stones, the 1960s- 70s saw the bloom of two artists destined to leave an indelible imprint on the lives of generations. Carole King and James Taylor between them amassed formidable respective repertoires of original songs from ballad to up tempo, folk blues to gospel, with always the underlying message of hope for a world veering between wars and a burgeoning awareness of civil rights abuse.

A Tapestry of Fire and Rain, is a show that captures the essence of that era and message through the canny selection of repertoire expertly performed by the band and the chemistry between the two vocalists Di Bird and Peter O’Regan. Di and Peter have been doing gigs together for more than 40 years and their combined experience and friendship shows in the delivery of this truly nostalgic musical production.

The sheer amount of hits produced by Taylor and King ensures a program of time tested songs including: “Carolina in my mind,” “Sweet Baby James” “It’s Too Late” “Fire and Rain” and many more. During the sell out shows, the audience is often compelled to sing along and shed a tear for a sentimental memory.

Both Di Bird and Peter O’Regan at times have been favorably compared in style to Taylor and King and their enduring friendship brings more than a hint of authenticity to this celebration of the songs of James Taylor and Carole King.
